Community Partners
The Immigrant Youth Task Force at UCLA has established partnerships with the Los Angeles County Office of Immigrant Affairs (OIA) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) California Chapter 2 (Southern California).
These partnerships will focus on the following objectives:
-
- To connect experts at UCLA with OIA to inform joint policy and research efforts, as well as to further the effective provision of legal, medical, and social services to immigrant youth throughout LA County
- To engage UCLA students in research projects in collaboration with OIA, the results of which will benefit unaccompanied minors and separated immigrant youth in LA County through dissemination of findings to the community, policymakers and stakeholders, including the LA County Board of Supervisors
- To create a provider-facing web-based Immigrant Youth Toolkit in partnership with the AAP CA-2 Immigrant Health Interest Group, which will serve as a centralized database of local resources for providers and professionals caring for immigrant youth and families in LA County
